Description:

SIX TABLETS WITH NAMES, AND A CENTRAL ONE INSCRIBED 'WAR MEMORIAL' FLAG POLES; BLACK MARBLE RAISED PLINTH, SPREAD LAUREL FRONDS Contemporary newspaper report says the memorial is "in the form of an extension to the front of the British Legion Hall. There is an enclosed area, with on one side tablets for the names of those who fell and a bronze plaque. In front there is a decorative iron railing with a small gateway... On the other two sides are the steps" to the main hall.
