QUARE PEDESTAL WITH CORNER PILASTERS AND MOULDED PANELS ON EACH SIDE OF THE SQUARE. UPPER PART OF PEDESTAL TREATED WITH CORNER SCROLLS CONNECTED BY SWAGS OF LAUREL WREATH. SURMOUNTED BY A FIGURE OF A SOLDIER IN BOER WAR CAMPAIGN DRESS WITH RIFLE RAISED INTO ON GUARD POSITION, STANDING AMONGST THE DEBRIS OF WAR. PRINCIPAL PANEL SURMOUNTED BY BADGE OF THE KINGS OWN SCOTTISH BORDERERS
