Soldier standing on granite plinth (which surmounts a 4 stage granite base-the bottom 2 stages are circular) in field dress and Tam o'Shanter with outflung arms. The coats of arms are for Maxwelltown, King's Own Scottish Borderers Regiment, Thistle wreath and Crowned Lion Rampant.
