Description:
Square base surmounted by pedestal and Highlander soldier in Tam o'Shanter and puttees standing at ease with rifle and fixed bayonet. Inscription and names in black lettering on sides of pedestal. A low chain link fence surrounds the monument. The proprietor of Mackies shop in Annan told the Scottish War Memorial Project in 2009 that the soldier who was the model for the soldier on the memorial was his grandfather; Sgt John Mackie KOSB (number 240637).
