THIS MEMORIAL, ERECTED BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION, IS GRATEFULLY DEDICATED TO THE MEN/ BELONGING TO THIS PARISH WHO FELL IN THE SERVICE OF THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 - 1919/ (NAMES)/ "THEY NEVER FAIL WHO DIED IN A GREAT CAUSE/ THEY BUT AUGMENT THE DEEP AND SWEEPING THOUGHTS/ WHICH OVERPOWER ALL OTHERS AND CONDUCT/ THE WORLD AT LAST TO FREEDOM"/ "GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS"
