Description:
Statue of a Scottish soldier standing, looking downwards, with arms reversed. The statue is on a stone stepped plinth bearing commemorative inscriptions and names of war dead. The commemoration to WW1 dead is inscribed in an inset section which has also been engraved with the names of a serving man killed in Northern Ireland and three WW1 casualties (presumably later additions). Further WW1 names are inscribed on separate inset panels on the sides of the plinth. The names of WW2 dead are inscribed on tablets affixed to the lower section of the plinth. A further tablet bears the name of a Gulf War casualty (2004)
