Born Acrehead, Dumfriesshire, son of Robert (ploughman) & Jane Campbell Dorans, resident of 2 McKerrell Street, Paisley. Widow, Jane Hunter Dorans (anchor mill worker) resident of 4 Whitehead Street, Paisley. Member of Salvation Army, Cotton Street, Paisley. Formerly employed with Anchor Thread Mills Dyework Dept. Enlisted S.G., January 1915. Accidentally killed in France while at practice with a Lewis gun.
Buried Warlus Churchyard, Somme, France.
