Killed in a bomb explosion while off duty at the Horse and Groom Public House in Guildford Surrey along with his friend Guardsman John Hunter. Two young W.R.A.C. Girls, W/Pte Ann Hamilton aged 19 and W/Pte Caroline Slater were both killed along with a young civilian male. The IRA claimed responsibility for this outrage on the 05.10.1974
