Born Fereneze Terrace, Barrhead, son of George (scourer in bleach work) & Catherine Niven Mason Hunter, resident of
Knowes Cottages, Glenfield, Paisley. Widow (married at new year) Margaret Gemmell Winning Hunter, resident of Lintmill Cottages, 8 Lintmill Terrace, Neilston. Formerly served an apprenticeship as a brass-finisher with Doulton & Co., Ltd.,Hawkhead Road, Paisley. Enlisted at Glasgow September 1914.
