John was killed by a sniper in the Battle for Mount Tumbledown on 14 June 1982. A young boy when his father died Jamie Simeon also joined the Scots Guards and carved out a career in the Regiment. He has frequently made speeches and paid tributes to his father over the years including a pilgrimage to the Falkland Islands. Jamie also served in the Falkland Islands as part of the Rouliment Infantry Regiment, F Company Scots Guards in 2008
