Born 4 Smith Street, Paisley, third son of Charles (police constable) & Jean Harvie] Walmsley, resident of 3 Ross Street,
Blackhall, Paisley. Educated South School & member of St Barnabas Episcopal Church. Formerly employed with Boyd & Sons Heating Engineers. Enlisted S.G., 12th November 1914 & after training went to France on the 1st May.
