Wellmeadow, Paisley. Educated Camphill and Paisley Grammar School's & member of Middle Parish Church. Formerly
employed as a clerk with the Corporation Gas Office, Municipal Buildings. Was secretary of the Trades Amateur Rowing
Club & Paisley Liberal Club. Enlisted October 1914.
